Artist's Description

After a few days camping without my cell I start to relax and tune in to the sounds of the natural world around me. From a compilation of photos taken while camping in the Adiondacks on Long Lake with our aussie/setter, Lisabet.

Started with a colored pencil drawing on Strathmore black cold press and completed with soft pastels.
Accepted into the Tompkins County Community Arts Juried Group Show, Jume 2-18, Ithaca, NY

Susan Sarabasha

Growing up in Brooklyn, I spent part of most summers on the beach but really fell in love with the natural world and animals when my parents started sending me to the 'wilds' of New Jersey for summer camp. The inspiration for my work still remains Nature’s mysteries and beauties. I completed my undergraduate education at Alfred University and Empire State College, majoring in Engineering and Art, and received an MFA in Illustration, from Syracuse University, specializing in natural science and technical illustration. Over the years, I have worked with a variety of materials, including hand painted silk art quilts, pastels and colored pencil drawings.
