Artist's Description

Almost every spring one lamb must be bottle feed, whether because the Mom is unable or for some other reason. These lambs are often treated the way one would raise a puppy. They are loved and brought inside for a time. When they are old enough they are reintroduced to the flock and eventually adjust back to life as a sheep.

Susan Sarabasha

Growing up in Brooklyn, I spent part of most summers on the beach but really fell in love with the natural world and animals when my parents started sending me to the 'wilds' of New Jersey for summer camp. The inspiration for my work still remains Nature’s mysteries and beauties. I completed my undergraduate education at Alfred University and Empire State College, majoring in Engineering and Art, and received an MFA in Illustration, from Syracuse University, specializing in natural science and technical illustration. Over the years, I have worked with a variety of materials, including hand painted silk art quilts, pastels and colored pencil drawings.
