Artist's Description
Opossums are the only marsupial in the Northern Hemisphere. They keep their babies in their pouch for about 50 days, then the kids ride on her back until they are old enough to fend for themselves. Opossoms do not carry any diseases and they eat thousands of ticks.

About Susan Sarabasha
Growing up in Brooklyn, I spent part of most summers on the beach but really fell in love with the natural world and animals when my parents started sending me to the 'wilds' of New Jersey for summer camp. The inspiration for my work still remains Nature’s mysteries and beauties. I completed my undergraduate education at Alfred University and Empire State College, majoring in Engineering and Art, and received an MFA in Illustration, from Syracuse University, specializing in natural science and technical illustration.
